Description
In this listing we have a really pretty Barbie doll. This doll was released by Mattel as part of the Fashionista line. This doll is number 149 and I don’t think they have official names anymore. This lovely doll uses the popular Raquelle face mold and the “Curvy” body with the flat feet mold. She has a light colored skin tone with a bit of a yellow undertone. She two toned brown hair with a side part, large brown eyes, and pink colored lips. This doll is articulated at the neck, shoulders, and hips. This doll was made in Indonesia. My picture coloring is a little off, my camera died and I had to use my phone, so the colors are a little saturated for some of them. This doll is in good shape. She has never been played with and was just briefly displayed in the box before being taken out. She does have a few minor factory flaws. The doll’s hair looks good. It did get a little mussed from taking her out of the box, but a light styling will get her looking lovely. The ends of her hair are a bit choppy, but I think that’s intentional. The doll’s part line is curved, it’s not as straight as they normally are. There are plastic tabs in the back of the doll’s head. There is also the post of one at the top of her head from where an accessory was attached to her head. She does have some crimps in her hair from where she was held into the box. The dolls’ face paint looks good. She does use the newer printed style, so when you look at it you can see her eyes, eyebrows, and lips are made up of little dots. This style face paint is also a bit more reflective than normal. It just catches the light more and the light reflects off it. The whites of the doll’s eyes look a little thin in a couple spots. They’re also not as white as normal, they’re more of a muted white. The doll’s lips are also the printed style. Some of the pink dots are spread out a little so you can see some of the white underlayer through them. This is more obvious on the edges of the lips, but you can also see it around other spots. It’s pretty minor, but you can see it. Her teeth paint is also a little thing and you can see some of the lip paint through it. The doll’s body looks good. She does have some small scratches and scuffs to her torso. The doll’s arms look good. Her arms are slightly bigger than her shoulder opening so the hard plastic does tend to cut into the softer arm plastic when the arms are extended. This has left some small scratches and gouges in the plastic and it will get worse over time with use. I’ve been seeing this a lot from Mattel dolls. There are seam lines on the arms and a mold injection spot at the back of the arm at the shoulder. The arm has the issue where the upper arm has a more textured look to it. It doesn’t feel textured, but the plastic doesn’t look as smooth as the lower arm. This doll has it worse than other dolls and it travels down the arm and almost goes to the elbow. The doll’s legs look good. They also have seam lines. There are a few molded in lines to the upper legs. They have the issue where the upper leg has a shiny finish, but the lower leg has a more matte finish and there’s a visible line around the knee where you can see the finish changes. There are also some random spots on the upper leg where they have a matte finish. It’s pretty minor, and these are some pretty common issues for Mattel dolls. Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of this doll and please keep in mind some issues are more visible in person compared to pictures.
This listing is for the nude doll alone, the stand shown is not included.
