    Historic Negative Collection
Negative from the Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
Excellent images of the USS Arizona built at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and commissioned in 1916.  A second class super dreadnaught she never saw over seas duty during World War I and was sent to the Pacific Fleet for the duration of her service.  Tragically she was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japanese armor piercing bombs with a loss of 1,177 officers and crewmen.  A memorial was dedicated in 1962 to honor those who died during the attack.
We have other similar glass plate negatives, see our other auctions.
